New Year’s Eve in Colorado 2026: Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and the Mountains

Thursday, Dec 31, 2026 Friday is a holiday Front Range and the ski towns Organizer links only Updated weekly

One page for the whole state: what’s actually posted for December 31, 2026 in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and the ski towns, with the organizer’s own link for each. Including the Denver party we produce and everything that competes with it.

Every Denver NYE event Get White Rose Gala Tickets

Most Colorado organizers post New Year’s Eve details in November and the ski towns post in December. Anything marked pending is an annual event that hadn’t posted 2026 at our last check, listed with last year’s format so you know the shape of the night. We re-check weekly.

New Year’s Eve 2026 is a Thursday with a Friday holiday behind it, which means the whole state gets a three-day weekend starting at midnight. That changes the math everywhere: the Denver parties fill earlier, the ski towns are at peak-week occupancy, and the drive home on I-70 or I-25 at 1 AM is the worst of the year. Here is every December 31 we can verify, by region, so you can pick a night and a bed in the same place.

The short version

Denver has the free 16th Street fireworks at 9 PM and midnight, the two big ticketed nights (White Rose Gala, ours, at The Ritz-Carlton, and the two-night Decadence festival at the Convention Center), Pretty Lights at Mission Ballroom, and a few dozen hotel, club and comedy nights. The full Denver list is on the Denver NYE calendar.

Boulder has no public countdown or fireworks. It has the Infamous Stringdusters at the Boulder Theater, BoomBox at the Fox, a 9 PM ball drop at the Dairy, the St Julien’s hotel party and the bar nights on Pearl Street.

Colorado Springs has the one thing nobody else in the state has: fireworks from the summit of Pikes Peak at midnight, set off by the AdAmAn Club every year since 1922 and visible across the city. The Broadmoor’s gala and bash, Glen Eyrie’s castle dinner and the Philharmonic’s balloon drop are the ticketed nights.

Fort Collins and Northern Colorado are thin this year: a 6 PM glow run is the one Fort Collins event dated December 31, the Mishawaka and the Elizabeth haven’t posted, and the Stanley Hotel’s masquerade in Estes Park is the ticketed night.

The mountains all run the same playbook: torchlight parade at dusk, fireworks between 6 and 10, and a town full of people who booked in July. Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat, Telluride, Purgatory and Grand Lake have posted 2026; Keystone, Copper, Beaver Creek and Crested Butte are still pending.

Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak

Colorado Springs has the one New Year’s Eve tradition nobody else in the state can copy: the AdAmAn Club climbs Pikes Peak over two days and sets off fireworks from the 14,115-foot summit at midnight, visible from most of the city when the sky is clear. It has run every year since 1922 (last year five shells went up at 9 PM as a tribute to the founders, then the full show at midnight), but the club hadn’t posted the 2026 climb at our check, so it carries the same pending tag as everything else that hasn’t posted. Below it, The Broadmoor runs two very different nights, Glen Eyrie does dinner in a castle, and the Philharmonic drops a thousand balloons.

Time Event Where Status

Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and Estes Park

Northern Colorado is the thinnest region on this page, and not because we didn’t look. First Night Fort Collins didn’t run last year and nothing says it’s back. The Aggie’s New Year’s show is BoomBox on January 1 (they play the Fox in Boulder on the 31st), Washington’s and the Lincoln Center are dark that night, and the two annuals that usually carry it, the Mishawaka’s canyon party and the Elizabeth Hotel’s, hadn’t posted. What’s actually dated December 31, 2026 is a 6 PM glow run and the Stanley’s masquerade in Estes Park.

Time Event Where Status
Doors 8 PM The Crystal Ball at The Stanley Hotel: the Stanley’s masquerade: show at 9, Soul Penny Circus, DJ Blondtoast, tarot, photo booth, midnight toast, ends 12:30 AM, 21+. Also pending for 2026: the NoCo Swing Dance Roaring Twenties Ball at the Agave Room (the closest thing to our night up north), Loveland Aleworks’ free disco party and the Pourhouse’s free toast, and the Estes Park bar nights (Park Tavern $20, The Barrel $5 cover, Bird & Jim $85 prix fixe, the American Legion). Estes Park has no town countdown; the free Bond Park lights run 5 to 9 PM nightly from November 21. Nothing on December 31 at the Aggie, Washington’s, the Lincoln Center, Comedy Fort, Odell, New Belgium, the Rialto or the Foundry in Loveland, or the Moxi and Union Colony in Greeley.

The Denver suburbs

The suburbs don’t do public fireworks on New Year’s Eve. What they do is Noon Year’s Eve: a countdown at noon for kids, then everyone drives into Denver or stays home. 1STBANK Center in Broomfield is gone (the city ended the operating contract and the building is coming down), Gaylord Rockies has ICE! but no party, and none of the Black Hawk casinos had posted a December 31 show at our check.

Ouray’s big one is January 1: the Polar Bear Plunge at the hot springs pool at 1 PM.

The drive, the weather, and where your bed is

I-70 at 1 AM on New Year’s Day is the worst drive of the year: everyone who watched a 9:30 fireworks show in Summit County and everyone leaving Denver at the same time, in the dark, often in snow. If you go up for a mountain show, book a bed up there. If you come down for Denver, book a bed in Denver.

I-25 is the same problem with less snow: Colorado Springs to Denver is 70 miles, Fort Collins to Denver is 65, and rideshare doesn’t do either at 12:30 AM for less than the price of a hotel room.

Weather: Denver’s normal high on December 31 is 43 and the low is 17, with sunset at 4:45 PM. The mountain shows at 6 are in full dark and often in single digits. The Springs at midnight for the Pikes Peak fireworks is a coat-and-gloves commitment, not a jacket one.

Transit: RTD is free from 7 PM to 7 AM in metro Denver, which covers Boulder and the suburbs but nothing in the mountains or the Springs. Bustang runs limited holiday schedules; check the week of.

The three-day weekend cuts both ways: more people out, but nobody has to drive home for a 7 AM meeting. Plan the bed first, then the party.

If your night is in Denver: ours, with the sales pitch turned off

We produce White Rose Gala, so read this knowing that. It’s the 24th annual Gatsby New Year’s Eve takeover of The Ritz-Carlton, Denver at 1881 Curtis Street, three blocks from the 16th Street fireworks. Live swing band and DJs across a ballroom and a speakeasy room, showgirls and theatrical performers, a countdown with a balloon drop at midnight. 21+, 8 PM to 1 AM, GA $82.50 or VIP $139.52 with fees included, cash bars, dress to impress. Discounted rooms upstairs through our link while the block lasts.

It’s the only night on this page where the party and the bed are in the same building at a group rate. That’s the whole pitch. If you want fireworks at your feet, the mountains have you. If you want a festival, Decadence. If you want to be in a ballroom at midnight and in an elevator at one, that’s us. The parties page lists the reasons to skip us, in our own words.

New Year’s Eve in Colorado FAQ

Denver’s two free rooftop shows over 16th Street at 9 PM and midnight are the biggest crowd, and the AdAmAn Club’s fireworks from the summit of Pikes Peak at midnight are the most unusual, visible across Colorado Springs. In the mountains, Breckenridge (about 9:30 PM), Vail (6:25 PM), Aspen (8 PM), Snowmass, Steamboat, Telluride and Purgatory all pair fireworks with a torchlight parade. Grand Lake fires at midnight over the lake.
The Springs’ countdown is the Pikes Peak fireworks: the AdAmAn Club climbs the peak over two days and fires the show from the 14,115-foot summit at midnight, visible from most of the city on a clear night (last year five shells also went up at 9 PM). The Broadmoor runs a gala in Broadmoor Hall and a cheaper bash in the International Center, Glen Eyrie does an alcohol-free castle dinner with a night hike to watch the fireworks, and the Philharmonic plays Rhapsody in Blue at the Pikes Peak Center with a balloon drop. The Colorado Springs section above has what’s posted for 2026.
No. Boulder has no public fireworks or Pearl Street countdown. The night runs on the Boulder Theater (Infamous Stringdusters), the Fox Theatre (BoomBox), the Dairy Arts Center’s 9 PM ball drop and the hotel and bar parties, which start posting prices in November.
Early. Vail fires at 6:25 PM after a 6:15 torchlight parade, Gypsum at 6, Purgatory between 6 and 7, Aspen at 8, Breckenridge around 9:30, Snowmass later in the evening after a 6 PM parade, Steamboat right after the 5 to 6 PM Snow Cat parade, Telluride shortly after a 6:30 torchlight. Grand Lake is the midnight show. Keystone, Copper, Beaver Creek and Crested Butte hadn’t posted 2026 times at our last check.
December 31, 2026 is a Thursday, and January 1, 2027 is a Friday and a federal holiday, so most of Colorado has a three-day weekend starting at midnight. Expect Saturday-night crowds everywhere and earlier sellouts than a midweek New Year’s Eve usually brings.
In Denver, White Rose Gala at The Ritz-Carlton (the Gatsby hotel takeover, GA $82.50 or VIP $139.52 all-in) and Decadence at the Convention Center (two nights of electronic music, single day from $235.17). Pretty Lights plays three nights at Mission Ballroom starting on the 31st. Outside Denver, the St Julien in Boulder, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, the Stanley Hotel’s Crystal Ball in Estes Park and Warren Station’s Midnight in the Garden in Keystone are the ticketed nights.
You can, and everyone else will be doing it with you on I-70 at the same hour, in the dark, often in snow, on the busiest night of the year for impaired drivers. Book a room where the show is. The same goes for the Springs and Fort Collins on I-25.
Denver’s 16th Street fireworks, the Mile High Tree countdown and the drone show; every resort torchlight parade and fireworks show on this page (Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat, Telluride, Purgatory, Grand Lake, Gypsum); Winter Park’s sledding and silent disco night; the Pikes Peak fireworks; and the Noon Year’s Eve countdowns at Belmar and the Longmont library. RTD is free in metro Denver from 7 PM to 7 AM.

How this page works: every date, time and price above was checked against the organizer’s own site or ticket page, not an aggregator. Events marked pending are annual Colorado New Year’s Eve traditions that hadn’t posted a 2026 date at our last update; they’re listed with last year’s format rather than guessed at, and we re-check weekly through December 31. Spot an error? Tell us and we’ll fix it. More from us: the Denver NYE calendar, fireworks times and viewing spots, every Denver party with prices, hotel packages, who’s playing December 31, and photos from past years.
